The barndominium aesthetic is one of those looks that's hard to pull off if you don't plan it carefully. The contrast between raw, industrial elements and clean finishes has to be intentional - otherwise it just looks unfinished. This customer knew exactly what they wanted, and we knew exactly how to get there.

Here's what we were working with: an unfinished shower space that needed walls, plumbing rough-in, and a finished look that matched the barndominium style throughout the rest of the build. The customer wanted that bold black-and-white contrast - white corrugated metal panels paired with sharp black trim. Clean. Simple. Sharp.

Getting metal panels to work in a wet space like a shower takes more thought than people realize. Waterproofing, proper sealing at every seam and corner, and making sure the trim work is tight - none of that is optional. We treat every detail the same way whether it's a standard tile job or something like this. The craftsmanship has to hold up long-term, not just look good on day one.

What we ended up with is a shower that genuinely fits the space and the style the customer was going for. The black trim lines create a strong frame around the panels, and the corrugated texture adds that industrial character without feeling out of place. It's a cohesive, purposeful finish - not just a novelty.

We handle all kinds of custom interior builds, and this is a good example of why we enjoy the work. Not every job looks the same, and that's the point. When someone comes to us with a specific vision, we figure out how to make it work the right way.
